Position: U.S. Caribbean Watershed Restoration and Monitoring Coordinator
Location: Culebra, PR
Term: 2 years
“Lynker is seeking a Watershed Restoration and Monitoring Coordinator to advance land-based sources of pollution (LBSP) management priorities in the U.S. Caribbean. Will provide project management & technical support for both NOAA’s Coral Reef Conservation Program (CRCP) & NOAA’s Restoration Center (RC).”
– Project management & oversight of existing individual ridge to reef monitoring studies.
-Develop & implement a coordinated data management plan for data collected through the individual studies.
-Assist in data analyses to inform monitoring/management recommendations.
-Develop reports and/or presentations to communicate monitoring & evaluation results to a variety of stakeholders.
-Culebra community engagement & training to enhance local capacity for long-term monitoring.
-Assist in watershed planning & project implementation in other locations in the U.S. Caribbean.
– MA in environmental sciences, marine science, coastal management, or related field AND 3+ years of related experience.
-Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
-Written & verbal communication skills.
-Ability to develop creative solutions to problems.
-Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment.
-Ability to build relationships with management, colleagues, & external partners.
-Technical writing skill & ability to synthesize technical information.
-Watershed & water quality monitoring experience.
-Experience with water quality management.
-Experience working with state, territorial, & federal agencies, tribes, academia, & nongovernmental organizations.
-Experience developing & tracking project milestones and strategic planning.
-Experience with watershed modeling.
