Description:
“NOAA’s Marine Debris Program is offering two funding opportunities under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for large-scale marine debris removal projects and the installation of proven marine debris interception technologies.
– Marine Debris Removal: Focus on the development of large-scale removal projects targeting abandoned and derelict vessels, derelict fishing gear, and other large debris generally unable to be collected by hand.
– Marine Debris Interception Technologies: Focus on the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of proven technologies to capture marine debris at or near known sources or pathways. These technologies include litter traps, shoreline removal technologies, booms, skimmers, conveyors, floating collection devices, etc.
Requirements:
– Projects must clearly demonstrate beneficial impacts on NOAA trust resources and the coastal environment or community.
