Position: NC Applied Coastal Scientist
Entity: The Nature Conservancy (TNC)
Location: North Carolina, USA (proximity to Kill Devil Hills or Outer Banks, NC)
Salary: $72,000 – $80,000 a year

Description:
“Lead development, implementation, and integration of TNC’s coastal science strategies in coastal North Carolina. Provide technical skills, scientific support, and leadership for coastal habitat conservation, climate change-related analyses, and renewable energy siting. Serve as the principal coastal marine contact to government agencies, conservation organizations, academia, and local communities.
Requirements:
– Master’s Degree and 2 years’ experience in coastal/marine science or similar field.
– Experience with North Carolina coastal ecology, managing staff and projects, field data collection and analysis, spatial analysis, grant writing, and strategic planning.
– Strong communication and project management skills.
