Description:
“The Höök lab at Purdue University is seeking multiple PhD or MS students to work on projects involving field studies, laboratory processing, and quantitative analyses. The students will partner with state and federal agencies and collaborate with academic researchers. The selected individuals will enroll in Purdue University’s Department of Forestry and Natural Resources.
Specific research topics include:
-Evaluating impacts of bowfishing on fish populations and assemblages throughout Indiana.
-Quantifying morphological, physiological, behavioral trophic, and genetic variability among lake trout ecotypes in Lake Superior.
-Exploring trophic variation and connectivity among fishes in large lakes (North American Great Lakes and large Swedish lakes).
-Assessing fish reproductive utilization of degraded reef habitat in Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron.
Requirements:
-Minimum qualifications include a BS (for MS position) or MS (for PhD position) in -Biology, Ecology, Fisheries Science, or related field
-GPA of 3.2 or greater
-Start date: Flexible (Spring-Fall 2024).
