Salary: €2,200/month gross (rising to €2,300/month from January 1, 2026)

Description:

“This PhD project explores why cancer resistance varies across wild vertebrate species. Using comparative genomics, large databases, and cell culture experiments, the goal is to identify natural anticancer mechanisms that could inform human medicine. The student will focus on aspects of the project aligned with their interests and background.

Requirements:
– Master’s degree (or equivalent) in evolutionary biology, cancer biology, or related fields
– Interest in statistical analyses (R experience is a plus)
– Experience or interest in cell culture and wet lab work
– Background in genomics or proteomics is advantageous
