Description:

“The PhD project focuses on the disturbance dynamics of old-growth boreal forests in Quebec, their impact on habitats, and the effectiveness of current forest management practices in preserving habitat diversity. The research will utilize a network of over 100 plots in old-growth boreal forests, combining dendrochronological and habitat data. The project aims to produce scientific publications, conference presentations, and outreach activities. Project start dates are Winter 2025 and Fall 2025.

Requirements:
– Master’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Forestry, or a related field.
– Strong academic record and demonstrated research potential.
– Qualities such as curiosity, creativity, autonomy, and teamwork ability are highly valued.
– Experience in dendrochronology or modeling is an asset.
– Fluency in French is advantageous but not required.
