Position: PhD Student in Global Change Ecology and Mycorrhizal Symbiosis
Entity: Boston University (Jennifer Bhatnagar’s Lab) and University of Mississippi (Jason Hoeksema’s Lab)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts (BU) or Oxford, Mississippi (UM), with fieldwork in Australia
Salary: Stipend support included, specific details differ between UM and BU
Deadline: Rolling applications, start date between January-September 2025

Description:

“The project investigates how plant-associated fungi mediate vegetation and process shifts in response to global change factors in P-limited dry forest-grassland systems. The research includes field and laboratory studies, focusing on microbial ecology, mycorrhizal symbiosis, biogeochemistry, and ecosystem modeling.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Biology, Ecology, Bioinformatics, Geology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Mycology, or a related field.
– Relevant research experience.
– Strong science writing and communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Willingness to conduct field and/or laboratory research in Australia.
