Description:
“The Department of Applied Ecology at North Carolina State University is inviting applications for a PAID internship in Tropical Ecology and Evolution at El Verde Field Station, Puerto Rico. The program, funded by the National Science Foundation, will run from May 27 to August 2, 2024.
The summer program provides research experiences for undergraduate students in the tropical rainforest of Puerto Rico, focusing on ecology (streams, plant communities, soils) and evolution (plant-pollinator interactions). Field research is conducted at El Verde Field Station, within the El Yunque National Forest, in collaboration with the Luquillo LTER program.”
Requirements:
“- Limited to undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at a college or
university during the summer of 2024
-Open to US citizens or permanent residents
-Interest in Tropical Ecology and Evolution
-Willingness to actively engage in hands-on field research
-Ability to develop an independent research project”
