Position: Visitor Information Services
Entity: US Forest Service
Location: El Yunque National Forest, PR
Salary: $600/week
Term: October 2024 – October 2025

“American Conservation Experience, a nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with the El Yunque National Forest, is seeking ONE Visitor Information Services Member to support in providing visitors with standardized information alongside Forest Service Staff.”

-Informs the public of Forest Service recreation rules & regulations, traffic control, accident prevention, campsites & picnic area operations, visitor information services, reservation operation & miscellaneous recreation program activities.
-Answers routine questions that require knowledge of a limited variety of facts, events, circumstances, personalities, & natural characteristic identities with the site.
-Checks the usage & condition of public use areas, trails, group camps, & other reaction areas for safety, fire, sanitation & maintenance reasons.
-Performs routine daily opening & closing procedures & assists with general tasks.
-Position may operate a government vehicle in daily operations.
-Assist with recreation & facility maintenance as scheduled.

-Fluent in Spanish & English.
-Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident, as required by U.S. government contracts.
-Willing & able to represent ACE & the partner organization in a professional, positive, & enthusiastic manner.
-Ability to be both self-directed/work alone, & be a positive, contributing member of a group.
-A valid driver’s license & an insurable driving record (documentation to be provided upon request).
-Willing to undergo & must pass the required two-part criminal history check.
-Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
-ACE Members will need to complete bi-weekly timesheets, beginning of term feedback forms, end of term evaluations & for longer terms, a mid-term evaluation.
